Goals for 2008‐2009

I. Facilities Planning

Goal: Plan for facility needs for next five years

1. Review past 5 years’ facilities project and improvement list
2. Charge the Facilities Committee with the creation of a new 5 Year Master Plan including financial options for short and long term energy improvements for the building
3. Request replacement cycle recommendations from Facilities Committee

II. Enrollment

Goal: Develop enrollment model for 35 years
Administrators to develop cohort enrollment study by December 2008 Board meeting

1. Review Data for projected enrollment
2. Discuss instructional and structural recommendationsrelated to enrollment by mid December 2008(including any NH guidelines and “best practices” research
3. Develop system for enrollment data collection
4. Discuss long and short‐term solution for enrollment including strategic community partnerships (i.e. other districts)

III. Communication

Goal: Increase information outreach town wide

1. Develop annual School District meeting flyer for town wide mailing with succinct/bulleted information by February
2. Highlight School Board issues in available vehicles: newsletters, website and sandwich board (ongoing)
3. Provide transportation as needed for forums and Annual Meeting –as needed and by March 6, 2009
4. Develop information and strategies to address specific finance issues (i.e.SB2) by March 1, 2009

IV. Technology

Goal: Develop Districtwide vision for Technology

1. Create Standing Board Committee for Technology including Board, Administration and Teaching staff by October 6, 2008 (alert community to the formation of committee)
2. Discuss and Approve Plainfield Technology Plan (October 21, 2008)
3. Develop Strategic Focus Areas for educational program (ongoing)
4. Explore technology needs in facility development

V. Professional Growth and Supervision

Goal: Support the development and supervision of an excellent teacher corps

1. Review and Approve Master Plan for Professional Development (November 18, 2008)
2. Review Policies related to Professional Development and Evaluation
3. Review Recommendations for Contract Renewal by February 2009
4. Explore and discuss new time for staff collaboration and professional development

VI. Educational Program

Goal: Continue to direct school administration to develop educational environment to challenge students at all levels

1. Review newly created, differentiated offerings for the highly skilled and non‐sports minded student
2. Explore “best practices” and any needed recommendations for instructional time in core subjects: administrative team, leadership team, and grade level cluster groups
3. Explore program impact needs on facility
4. Review proposals and budget implications by December 2008
5. Review and revise any NH policy requirements related to core instructional time
