Robotics Event

The Intro to Robotics course wrapped up with its inaugural Robot Games Competition.  Five teams battled it out to see who could program their robots in a variety of challenges.

The winners of each round follows:

Round 1, Out and Back: Teams had to drive away from a starting point, turn around, and return as near as they could to their starting location.   Points were awarded for speed and accuracy: Luke Decker and Zoe Rodriguez

Round 2, Lapping the Field: Team had to follow a track using sensors.  Points awarded for laps and tick marks along the way: Emma Follows and Ellis Harrington.

Round 3, Retriever: Team had to retrieve targets from the field and return them to scoring locations:  Mason Darak and Warren Ramsey

Round 4, Tower of Power: Teams had to drive to a tower and knock back levers to score points.   Emma Follows and Ellis Harrington.

Mason Darak and Warren Ramsey were awarded the prize for overall consistency between the rounds, and  Emma Follows and Ellis Harrington were awarded the prize for most overall points.  Congratulations goes out to all competitors for the progress they made through the year!

Official LEGO League meetings will start on or about August 2nd, when the new mission kits arrive.  We are striving to have a few meetings through the summer as students are available in order to continue to improve skills and think about how to approach next year's competition.   Please contact lego@plainfieldschool.org for more information.
